The listing of holiday rentals in Israeli Occupation settlements amounts to profiting from war crimes and rewarding the perpetrators. The theft of Palestinian land is condemned by the Security Council. Resolution 228, for instance, calls for the withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from Occupied Palestinian territory. The daily toll exercised by the Israeli Occupation on Palestinian life, limb, liberty and well-being is horrendous. Every area of Israeli-Occupied Palestinian territory experiences arbitrary restrictions of movement imposed by the Israeli Army. The lack of freedom of movement is the frustrating and humiliating background to daily life for the Palestinian people, whose suffering includes a variety of human rights abuses, from night home invasions to wanton acts of agricultural and economic sabotage. The Israeli Occupation Army enforces a permit system for the benefit of settlers that determines where Palestinians may live in their own land.
Both the Israeli Army and illegal (according to international law) settlers terrorise Palestinian farmers, often preventing them from working their land, as well as frequently uprooting or setting fire to Palestinian olive trees and bulldozing their crops. The United Nations (UN Security Council Resolution 465) has repeatedly upheld the view that Israel’s construction of settlements constitutes violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. The International Court of Justice says these settlements are illegal and no foreign governments support Israel’s settlements. The aim of the settlements is to take both land and resources from the local people and to bring pressure to bear on them to leave.
Con el pretexto de recuperar la tierra prometida por Yahvé al pueblo Judío, Israel ha construido el campo de concentración más grande en la historia de la humanidad al someter al pueblo palestino al aislamiento y el encierro.
AirBnb should not list homes that are stolen from other people. I am a fervent AirBnB visitor, but strongly need to consider boycotting it, if the company does not stand up for justice.
AirBnB where is your conscience? Allowing stolen property to be advertised on your website reveals a lack of sound ethical governance. Not only would I not rent this property but no other until you have cleaned up your business model and put in place criteria which preclude any properties obtained through corrupt and immoral practices. Shame on you for this one!
Sorry I won’t be coming now. I didn’t realise it’s not on your land.
How can this travesty go on? This listing is unconscionable!
It’s outrageous that a business offering a great community service would allow to in any way support the dreadful situation in Palestine. This property represents a disgraceful situation – zero 5 stars!
Great view if you like admiring monolithic concrete walls. No restaurants in the vicinity. Protests by former owners quelled by gunfire. Might try AirBnb in Raqqa next year.
